The decapitated body found in Naththandiya is revealed to have belonged to a resident of Mathugama abducted at Boralesgamuwa.

Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara stated that the body was identified by the father of the dead last night at the Marawila hospital. The dead person is a 43 year old resident of Mathugama-Meegahawatta-Pelawatta area.


The decapitated body had been discovered the night before the last at the 25th post in the Chilaw-Marawila-Naththandiya-Hora Wanguwa road, according to information received by the police hotline. The reason for the abduction is not yet revealed.

However the children of the dead have revealed that a murder had been committed by the dead and that the relevant case is already being heard at the Kalutara court.

The police states that according to information received  the dead person had been abducted a few days ago in a car. It is suspected that he was killed after the abduction and the body disposed of at the aforesaid venue. The killer has not yet been revealed. The Marawila police is carrying on further investigations.
