Day 6 of the HIRU FM Health initiative launched in conjunction with the "Rata Wenuwen Hiru" programme together with Hiru TV continues today.

Health camps will be held throughout the day, centering in Ratnapura, Elapatha- Deralabada- Dhamme-viharaya  and Galle- Naagoda- North and South Ketagoda grama divisions  .

Meanwhile the 11th consignment the "Rata Wenuwen Hiru" of relief supplies is scheduled to be distributed to Kalutara and Ratnapura districts today.

The 10th stock of relief supplies distributed yesterday assisted residents in Kalutara district.

The 10th consignment of aid under Hiru FM Cares initiative together with Hiru FM and Hiru TV, heads to Kaluthara


The “Rata Wenuwen Hiru” initiative together with Hiru TV will be distributing the ninth consignment of relief goods in the Kaluthara District today.

The ninth consignment of aid will be distributed to disaster-affected people in Ratnapura, Kiriella and Ayagama.

The eighth consignment of aid was distributed to Udugama, Galandala and Neluwaa as well as several other areas in the Galle District.

The 6th and the 7th consignment of aid was distributed to those victims in Matara.

Meanwhile, “Rata Wenuwen Hiru” health camp initiative organized as a part of “Rata Wenuwen Hiru” programme together with Hiru TV will be held today for the 4th consecutive day at Kaduwela  - Walahida Saranankara temple.

Yesterday the health camp was held at Gamini Maha Vidyalaya in Kotuwila – Wellampitiya and Neluwa east in Galle.

Massive crowds affected by the inclement weather visited the health camps organized by Asia Broadcasting Corporation in collaboration with Sri Lanka Red Cross Society.

“Rata Wenuwen Hiru” relief operation along with Hiru TV is determined to provide effective and efficient assistance to the victims of the disaster.

In addition to the "Rata Wenuwen Hiru" programme, where relief aid has been distributed to victims of the disaster hit regions, another special programme is being implemented today.

The "Rata Wenuwen Hiru" Programme has been initiated having identified victims health are being challenged with the spread of diseases in those areas.

Accordingly in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society, "Rata Wenuwen Hiru" has set up medical camps in the disaster-hit areas.

Accordingly Health Camps have been organized at the church of Our Lady of Assumption in Pahala Hungwella as well as the  Bodhirukkhaaraama Temple in Yabbaluwa South in Biyagama, Gampaha today.

Similarly HIRU FM and the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society will jointly conduct special medical camps for disaster-hit people in Matara at St. Thomas’s Girls’ College, the Raahula College and Uyanwatta Junior College.

An agreement to that effect was signed and, CEO of Asia Broadcasting Corporation Dhammika Bandara Tennakoon and Sri Lanka Red Cross Deputy Director General S.B. Madugalle were the signatories to the agreement.

Earlier, the 3rd and the 4th consignments were delivered to Kalutara and Ratnapura districts.

Fifth stock of relief aid from the “Rata Wenuwen Hiru” Programme heads to Galle - Video & Photos

“Rata Wenuwen Hiru” initiative launched by the Asia Broadcasting Corporation have been taking necessary measures to ensure that the 5th consignment of relief aid would make its way to Galle by the end of the day.

The 4th stock of relief aid was distributed yesterday to Ratnapura district which was severely affected by flooding.

Ratnapura divisional secretariat assisted the “Rata Wenuwen Hiru” initiative making it possible to get supplies to victims who were stranded in areas that were not accessible to the general public. On occasion the Sri Lanka Airforce was able to step in.

The “Rata Wenuwen Hiru” headquarters in Nawala and l other centres located throughout the island have been open 24 hours, to make it easier for people to make donations.

Various organizations and university students have been volunteering, by assisting with the work at collection centers.

A group local and foreign students from Moratuwa University were also at the collection centers helping with collection sorting and distribution of supplies

The 4th load of relief goods collected by “Rata Wenuwen Hiru”, the relief initiative launched by Asia Broadcasting Corporation was distributed to the disaster victims in Ratnapura district yesterday.

“Rata Wenuwen Hiru” sought the assistance of the Sri Lanka Air Force to reach certain villages in the Ratnapura district that were inaccessible to the general public.

Those individuals stranded in these villages had not received relief supplies until “Rata Wenuwen Hiru” reached out to them.

In addition to our relief operation headquarters at Nawala, the collections centres throughout the island that  have been set up by Asia Broadcasting Corporation, will remain open around the clock to receive supplies for disaster victims .

Centres are set up to receive relief items at Sri Vachisvara Sunday School of the Meditation Center in Moratuwa – Rawathaawaththa, Rajamaha Viharaya Kotte and Kolonnawa Rajamaha Viharaya.
 
Those residing in Gampaha could hand over relief items to Gampaha Medagama Siri Sunandaaraamaya, Aththanagalla Puraana Raja Maha Viharaya or Divulapitiya Priyadarshanaaramaya.
 
3 centres are established in Kurunegala namely, Padeniya Raja Maha Viharaya, Sri Jinarathana Sadaham Sevana, Kotawehera, Nikaveratiya and Bauddhaloka Vidyayathana Pirivena – Kurunegala.
 
Meanwhile, another centre has been established at the Mahiyanganaya Rajamaha Viharaya.
 
Buddhist Centre in Nuwara Eliya, Chandraa Nanda Buddhist School in Asgiriya are also accepting relief items under the Gold FM Cares project.
 
Regional Director of Health Service Office – Mirijjawila – Hambantota and Seenigama Devala also has centres set up to accept relief items.

The fourth consignment of disaster relief collected by the "Rata Wenuwen Hiru" project launched by the Asia Broadcasting Corporation will be distributed in the Rathnapura District today.

The third consignment was distributed in the Kalutara district yesterday.

"Rata Wenuwen Hiru"  launched by the Asia broadcasting corporation to support the people affected by the inclement weather, is receiving a great response from People Island wide.

"Rata Wenuwen Hiru" initiative launched covering many areas of the island is currently receiving a large number of aid at its collection points.

Those willing to contribute can send in items such as dry rations, drinking water, new clothes, medicine and school equipment to our collection centers located in many areas across the island including the special collection point located at No 156/2, Nawala Road, Nugegoda.

“Rata Wenuwen Hiru” Sahana Yaathra operation in action for the third day as well – vehicle convoy collecting aid to Kaluthara today – Videos & Photos


Accordingly, Kaluthara District Secretariat in collaboration with the Disaster Management Centre would be distributing the aids among the people battered by adverse weather.

Meanwhile, the second stock of relief collected under the initiative, was handed over to the Air Force last evening.

The massive stock of relief collected in Containers and lorries, were handed over to the Ratmalana Air Force camp, and will be distributed for a third day by the Air Force to those who cannot be reached via land.

Meanwhile the first stock of relief collected through the  “Rata Wenuwen Hiru” Sahana Yaathra initiative was handed over to the Sri Lanka Air Force yesterday.

The helicopters of the Air Force made over 30 trips by air in order to distribute relief collected in many containers.

Our correspondents noted that many people from all around island, contributed greatly by providing aid for the “Rata Wenuwen Hiru” initiative.

Accordingly, the second stock of relief is to be handed over to the Air force this morning, in order to be distributed immediately to individuals who have been affected, and cannot be reached by land.

Meanwhile the first stock of relief collected through the “Rata Wenuwen Hiru” initiative was handed over to the Sri Lanka Air Force yesterday, to be distributed immediately to those who were unreachable by land.

Meanwhile the special aid collecting vehicle convoy will proceed collecting relief goods again from the Negombo town covering Kochchikade, Wennappuwa, Katuneriya, Marawila, Mahawewa and Kaakkappalliya and reach Chilaw.

Rata Wenuwe Hiru” Sahana Yaathra project to be conducted today as well

The relief project, “Rata Wenuwen Hiru” launched on behalf of our own people battered by adverse weather is conducted today (28th) as well.

“Rata Wenuwen Hiru” Sahana Yaathra operation is receiving loads of contributions at the moment.

The first stock of relief materials collected under this initiative will be handed over to the Rathmalana Air Force for distribution.

The essentials required for the affected will be firstly distributed.

Asia Broadcasting Corporation, majoring HIRU TV and HIRU FM who stand for you in both happiness and sadness launched this project in order to provide relief to the people affected from adverse weather condition.

The prime objective of our relief project, “Rata Wenuwen Hiru” is to lend a helping hand to those who are affected from the massive flooding.
