“That brotherhood has never faded”“Some think we are not in good terms with each other, and we don’t talk”Shyami Nadeesha, daughter of Chadralekha Perera created news from time to time. She resides in Melbourne in Australia. Her latest news had been published in a weekend newspaper as follows.
You are married. How is your family?
I and my husband Susantha Kumarage along with our three kids live in Melbourne in Australia. My eldest daughter, Kaveelekha Kumarage is ten years old, my second daughter Shenuli Kumarage is five years old and my son Seth Kumarage is only three months old.
We heard that your mother will be coming to Melbourne next month…
Yes, they all will come on June 10 to hold “Roosanda re” in Melbourne.
What do you think about the way everything got sorted out?
Some think we are not in good terms with each other, and we don’t talk. Ammi talked with me over the phone from those days. Our bonds strengthened after I came abroad. Ammi called me when she was in the US also. When we went to Sri Lanka both Ammi and uncle (Rookantha Gunathilake) visited us. Twice a year, Ammi’s and uncle’s show is held in Melbourne. They stay at my residence when they come. Some think we don’t talk to each other even.
How is your relationship with the daughters of Rookantha uncle and your Ammi?
Raini and Vindi are friendly with me since childhood. That bond is still there today. Though there were issues between parents, Raini and Vindi talked with me. They share everything with me. And I am very happy about all of their lives together today.
How do you describe Rookantha uncle?
He is a man with a good heart. Religious and easily forgiving people. He never chased popularity, popularity chased him. He is committed to music. His fans know it all.
