Dead bodies of two youth who had leaped into a tank to be saved from a wild elephant have been recovered from Habarana area.

A group of six youth have gone fishing in a tank in Ambagaswewa when they were chased by a wild elephant. The group had hopped into the tank as a safeguard method.


Two in the group had gone missing thereafter, and their bodies were found this morning.

The demised are residents of Eerigoya area aged 17 and 22 years.
