A wife of a Police Sargent residing in Anuradhapura has passed away in Kandy Hospital.

The corpse has been carried to Anuradhapura in a funeral coach while Traffic Police Officers attached to Matale Police have stopped the hearse in Balakaduwa area to offer a 1000 rupee fine for exceeding speed limits.


The Sargent has revealed the traffic policemen that the hearse carries his wife’s dead body.

However, Traffic Police has not released the hearse until the Sargent pays 1000 rupee fine.

The Sargent has later complained the Senior Superintendent Police Officer in Matale regarding the inconvenience he went through during his difficult time.
